Student expectations for remote learning:

  • Check your emails each day by 9am via the portal page.

  • Look for any new learning material that has been posted on Google Classroom.

  • Teachers will check your engagement in the learning. It might be by video conferencing, or completion of tasks etc. If you are joining a video, please consider what you are wearing and where in the house you are joining from.

  • Make a plan each day of things you want to achieve.

  • Pray, read, draw, sing, cook, dance, walk, create. BREATHE!

St Catherine's College uses a range of platforms to use for online learning/learning at home. Staff will communicate with you about what is the best platform to use.

Sharing Work Progress with Teachers:

  • Share a Google Doc with your teacher so they can check what you are doing. If you are working offline or on another platform you may need to share work in other ways.

  • Share a photo of the work via email - remember pen and paper is okay.

  • Attach evidence to a Google Classroom.

  • Use 'Turn In' on Google Classroom when you are ready to submit your work for marking.

Ministry of Education help -Learning from home website and Ki te Ao Mārama
Two online spaces went live this week. These have been produced with other agencies and are available
online here and here with resources for parents and whānau, teachers and leaders spanning early learning through to senior secondary.

These are a one stop shop for teaching and learning at home. We have launched these now so people have time to get familiar with the site and we can keep developing it to meet your needs. Current content is just the start of the guidance, tools and resources we will be uploading to support teachers and parents.
