Poetry Competition

The St Catherine’s College Annual Poetry competition started last Monday. Students are encouraged to create some original poetry and submit it to Ms Walsh (deidre.walsh@scc.school.nz). Competition finishes at the end of Week 7 (6th September 2019). Today we celebrated New Zealand Poetry day with poetry reading in the Library, accompanied by hot chocolate and muffins. Students and staff shared their own and their favourite peoms.

BOT Student Representative Nominations - 2020

Next week we will begin our search for our student BOT representative for 2020. Students may nominate themselves or someone else. Candidates can be from any year level. Nomination forms are available from reception. Students will be expected to prepare a candidate statement about themselves, between 1-2 minutes long. Nominations will close Friday 6th September at 12.00pm. Voting will take place on Friday, 20th September at Whānau time and the successful applicant will be informed and take office on Friday 27th September 2019.

SCC Sports News

Pacific Junior Diving Championships are being held 23-25 August at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre. Diving NZ is very excited to be hosting over 60 young divers, aged 12-18years, from around the Pacific region at the inaugural Pacific Junior Diving Championships at Kilbirnie Pool over the week from 23-25th August. The event is open to the public throughout the three days.

NCEA 1 & 2 EXAM PREPARATION HOLIDAY PROGRAMME

Knowledge Shop will be holding its highly successful NCEA Exam Preparation Programme from Monday 30 September to Friday 4 October.

St Patrick’s College Kilbirnie & the Johnsonville Community Centre venues are open to students from all schools.

This is an excellent opportunity to revise the most important areas of the curriculum to ensure you are prepared for the upcoming NCEA exams.
