Dear Parents, Caregivers & Whānau
The government’s decision today that it is lifting its COVID-19 Alert response from Level 2 to Level 3 (and to Level 4 in 48 hours) means that St Catherine’s College is closed from tomorrow Tuesday 24 March onward.
The school met this afternoon and we shared this news. We explained that this proactive response is our opportunity to beat the virus. It is important that we all respond by staying at home and following the directives given by our government.
We have encouraged our students to take home all resources and equipment that will support their learning at home. Teachers will work to provide online learning for our students. There will be challenges, no doubt, but we will do our very best for every student.
We have reassured our students that government decisions are made to protect the safety and wellbeing of us all. It is important that we all play our part and care for one another.
I will update you with further information as it becomes available from the Ministry of Education.
The great spirit and aroha of New Zealanders will support and strengthen us all.
In the days ahead we pray to live with gentle hearts
With kindness for our neighbours
With hope for our future
With the light of Jesus Christ to guide our ways.
Ngā mihi nui
