PTA Update
2020 has been a challenging year for all New Zealanders and it has made it difficult for the PTA to carry out our core functions of hospitality and fundraising for the college community. We have decided, however, to end the year on a positive note and with both eyes firmly on the future.
On Thursday 12th November we will hold our AGM at 7.30pm at Park Kitchen, Miramar and we would like to extend a very warm invitation to all members of our college community to join us.
What do we do?
The PTA is a group of parents who come together twice a term to organise and plan how we can best support the college in order to benefit the students. We organise fundraising events as well as social events and hospitality at the college for example, the prize-giving and orientation evenings. The funds we raise provide extra resources to enhance our girl’s education, cultural, sporting and art experiences. With funds raised in 2019 we were able to purchase 4 new projectors for classrooms, a new projector and screen for the hall, a keyboard for the music department, new library furniture, upgrade the volley ball equipment and purchase a laser cutter which can be used across many departments in the college. Joining the PTA is a wonderful way to meet other parents and contribute to our college community.
Who do we need?
YOU! At present all the core committee positions are filled for next year but a number of us will be leaving the college at the end of 2021. We would love more families to join the committee so that there will be continuity and a strong committee going forward.
TERM 4
The college have made us aware that they would greatly benefit from updating the audio equipment in the hall, to go with the new visual equipment. We have decided to end 2020 strongly by raising some funds to contribute to this project for the benefit of the whole school community.
We will do this in 3 ways and would love your support.
We are sure there will be something for everyone!
HONEYWRAPS are NZ’s original, organic, alternative to plastic wrap
A variety of sizes sold individually and in packs as well as produce bags and metal straws will be available to buy.
The PTA will receive a minimum of $5 on each wrap sold.
