Tēnā koutou, Tēnā koutou, Tēnā koutou katoa,
Hello everyone,
Ko Whaea Amelie tōku ingoa (My name is Ms Amelie)
He Tumuaki o te Kareti o Hāta Kataraina (I am the Principal of St Catherine’s College).
I am originally from Belgium and have resided in New Zealand since 2008. I live in Wellington, Kilbirnie with my husband and my two daughters. My native language is French, I learned to speak English when I moved to New Zealand and now I am enjoying learning Te Reo Māori.
Coming to a new country can be a big challenge for you but at St Catherine’s, we are committed to provide a safe environment for everyone and to look after each other.
We understand that learning a new language and understanding a different culture take time and we are here to support everyone and to create a learning programme adapted to our international students and their academic intentions.
St Catherine’s College offers many opportunities for students from learning a musical instrument to playing a sport. There are also some cultural performances such as Kapa Haka or Multi Cultural group which is a collection of songs and dances from Polynesia as well as choir, barbershop etc.
At St Catherine’s College, we are educating young girls from year 9 to year 13, within the Catholic Values ensuring that they are taught the teaching of Jesus Christ.
Parents, please support our local businesses
